The story of F1 Monaco Grand Prix

The association Automobile Club de Monaco was founded by Alexander NOGHES. It was a famous family who represented the Monegasque automobile adventure. To be recognized at the international level, the association ACM had to organize sports events within the Monegasque principality itself.
Antony NOGHES, the ACM founder’s son, launched the challenge to create a speed car race in Monaco street. An event who asked lots of work and the pressure was such that we shouldn’t disappoint the association’s Honorary President, the Prince Louis II of Monaco. To carry out the project, Antony NOGHES asked the advice and assistance to a professional: Louis CHIRON, the first Monegasque racing pilot. Few months later, the April 14, 1929, the 1st Monaco Grand Prix edition was born.
The Prince Pierre of Monaco inaugurated the circuit and made the tires of his race car crunch on a lap of honor. At that time, the pilots were selected at random: only 16 cars were lined up on the starting grid. Louis CHIRON was missing this day because he was performing for another sport event. The English driver “W. Williams”, who arrived too late to take part in the official practice sessions, did an unfair training on Saturday morning and finally won the Price on Sunday. The race was a real success in the Principality of Monaco.
In 1932, another Monaco Grand Prix edition was settled and this sport event was renewed to the present day. In other words, the circuit has known only few changes from the 1st Monaco Grand Prix to today.

The Monaco Grand Prix in a few words

  • A renowned sporting event
  • An unusual circuit with its specific corners
  • A gripping race from the starting time to the last second
  • F1 cars launched at more than 200km/h
  • Pilots of international renown
  • In brief: a unique « Grand Prix » atmosphere!

The Monaco Historic Grand Prix

The Monaco Historic Grand Prix is an appointment that neither of collector and motorsport passionate would like to miss. Since 1997, the association ACM organizes, every two years, this race on the same F1 Grand Prix circuit.
It’s an international event and brings old pilots, actors and enthusiasts together around old cars. They represent a wonderful retrospective of automobile races.
For the 11th edition of the Monaco Historic Grand Prix in 2018, a flash back on the old race car permitted for the spectators to discover the evolution from the pre-war cars to the 70’s cars.
In 2020, First Class Organisation offer you its “Goodwood Revival” package. Take part in a retro-vintage style for the Monaco Historic Grand Prix!

Monaco ePrix (Formula E)

This year, the Monaco ePrix will launch its 3rd edition the 11th May 2019. Increasingly viewers are interested and intrigued by this step who appears at the 5th place on the Formula E calendar, the international electric race championship.
The Formula E was created to promote the new technologies of ecologic transport, and it’s the only one who sets electric cars competitive on a race track. This race would like to transmit some new values at the mechanical sporting world and give a new challenge for automobile constructors. For this additional edition, the single-seater vehicle will be changed physically and mechanically.
The same as 2017, the Monaco ePrix will be on a segment of the famous Formula 1 circuit in the Principality of Monaco. The electric cars start and arrive in the same place than the F1, but take the lower part of the track, on 2km in length. Will be present, obviously, the first Formula E winner, Sebastian BUEMI. For 2019, he will try to save the first place but the competition will be arduous with new high level car drivers.
